What Is Live Resin?

In four steps, and only by a licensed manufacturer.

None of that happens here. Of the 266 concentrates and carts on our two menus, not one is ours. We grow flower, and the live resin we carry comes from other people: Raw Garden, Wildseed, Halára, Lost Farm and Coldfire.

Cured resin is the same kind of extract made from dried, cured flower. Both sit on our shelf, so the price gap is easy to see: 5 cured resin carts at $25 a gram, against 37 live resin carts with a median of $38. Different brands sit behind those two numbers, so read it as one shelf on one day rather than a like-for-like test.

Partly, and the research is narrower than the marketing.

Read together, freezing protects the lightest and most volatile part of the aroma, the part that drying and storage work against. It does not produce a different plant, and none of those studies put a hydrocarbon live resin next to a cured extract from the same harvest. Use your nose and the lab figures on the label, not the word on the front.

The names describe texture, not strength.

A cartridge filled with live resin instead of distillate. 37 of our 50 live resin products are vape hardware, and 10 of those are all-in-one units with the battery built in, so nothing screws on. The carts we list run 68% to 86.6% THC. The 2 CBD blends are left out of that range, because their THC figure is not the point of them. The extracts meant for a rig run 68.2% to 85.8%.

$18 to $50 a gram for the carts on our menus, with a median of $38. The extracts you dab run $22 to $34 a gram, median $27.

The makers behind those numbers sit at different prices, and the THC figure is not what separates them. Compare makers before you compare numbers.
