Accessibility statement

Garden of Eden wants this site usable by everyone who wants to shop with us. This page states where we are against the standard and how to tell us when we fall short.

Measures we take

We set accessibility goals and assign responsibility for them rather than leaving the work unowned, and we treat accessibility as part of building the site instead of a pass at the end.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines define what designers and developers should do to make content accessible, at three levels: A, AA and AAA.

Garden of Eden is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard, and we say so rather than claim more.

On 17 September 2026 an automated check of 23 pages of this site, in both colour themes and at desktop and phone sizes, found no failures against the level A and AA rules a machine can test: every image has a text alternative, every control has a name, keyboard focus is visible at every stop, each page has one main heading and a skip link, and colours meet the contrast minimums wherever they could be measured.

Two things a machine cannot settle are still checked by hand: text laid over the photographs at the top of each page, and the address search on the delivery pages. The links in the header are also smaller than the 24 pixel pointer target that the newer WCAG 2.2 recommends.

This statement was reviewed on 17 September 2026, replacing the one written for the previous site in May 2021.

Telling us about a barrier

If something on this site blocks you, we want to hear about it, and specifics help more than a general report: the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened instead.
