An eighth of weed is 3.5 grams, one eighth of an ounce. It's the most common size on our menu, and every larger size is a stack of eighths.

Those are the weights on any licensed shelf in California. What a chart like this won't tell you is that two of those four sizes barely exist on our menu. We counted.
Because dispensaries round the ounce down to 28 grams. The real ounce is 28.35 grams (NIST lists the avoirdupois ounce at 28.349 52 g), so a true eighth would be 3.54 grams. The trade settled on even numbers instead, and every size is cut from the 28-gram ounce. Our own menu lists its full ounces as 28 g.

On a full ounce the difference comes to about a third of a gram.
Mostly two. On September 18, 2026, our Hayward and Tracy menus listed 241 flower products: 148 in eighths, 91 in half ounces and 2 in full ounces. None came as a quarter, and none as a single gram.

So on our menu a quarter means two eighths, of one strain or of two you want to compare. A single gram usually means a pre-roll. We list 82 one-gram joints across the two stores on the pre-rolls page.
Yes, on our shelf every time. More often than not the half ounce is priced at exactly three eighths, which makes the fourth eighth free.

If you already know the strain and like it, the half ounce is the better buy. If you're trying it for the first time, the eighth is the cheaper way to find out.
28.5 grams of flower per recreational customer per day, which is an ounce with half a gram to spare. That limit comes from section 15409 of the state's cannabis regulations, and it's why a licensed store will sell you an ounce jar but not a QP. The same section caps concentrate at 8 grams a day, and the concentrate inside vapes, edibles and tinctures counts toward those 8 grams. Medical patients with a doctor's recommendation have separate, higher limits under the same section. Our FAQ lists both limits along with the ID you need to bring.

Buy two eighths. On September 18, 2026, neither store listed a 7-gram jar, and a half ounce is usually the better price per gram.
No. Those are street terms for ten and twenty dollars' worth. A licensed shop sells by weight, so every jar is marked in grams.
